Assist the Regional Biologist with furbearer and small game mammal management including conducting a bobcat field survey to estimate bobcat occupancy using camera traps, pelt sealing, and nuisance wildlife response. Assist with all aspects of Bureau of Wildlife work, primarily in the southern part of Region 9, which may include:
small mammal trapping, handling and surveying, big game harvest data collection, Chronic Wasting Disease monitoring, waterfowl banding, wildlife health monitoring, responding to public inquiries via phone, email, and at outreach events. Candidate will be required to work in rough terrain, all weather conditions, and carry field equipment. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule when needed to accommodate field work. Good communication, organizational, and computer skills are essential.
Job Function

Salary Range:
From $17.69 to $17.69 Hourly
Minimum Qualification
30 semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries; marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography. Preferred
Qualifications:
o Good public relations and communication skills. Must be able to communicate clearly and helpfully on the telephone, in person, and in writing. o Basic computer skills. Training will be provided to use specialized programs o Familiarity with hunting and trapping. o Rabies vaccination.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
