MDH, Allegany County Health Department, Cumberland, MD
Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to perform practical nursing duties, at the intermediate level, to adult residents of an inpatient addictions treatment unit. This position may be responsible for: (a)completing medical assessments, (b) transcribing physician and/or nurse practitioner orders,(c) assisting in developing a treatment plan, (d) monitoring/recording vital signs, (e) accompanying patients to medical appointments, (f) performing emergency care as required, (g) maintaining medical records, and other routine practical nursing duties. The selected candidate for this recruitment must be available to work either the Second shift (4:00 p.m. - 12:30 a.m.) OR Third shift (12:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Determined by the Maryland Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Practical Nurses.
Experience: None.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Practical Nurse from the Maryland Board of Nursing. A copy of your license or license number must accompany your application.
2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be require to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
3. Employees may be required to successfully complete and maintain current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Employees in this classification are subject to call-in, and therefore, will be required to provide the facility with a telephone number where they can be reached.
2. Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
